SATIRE, driven mostly by fury and outrage, deals in the truth, sometimes the only place to get real -if inconvenient, embarrassing, unpalatable...- truths. Some are noted seriatim. Is an artist in control of his product or it of him ? The Medicine Man's work is his medicine, Literature is the mirror of society, the effect of social causes and the cause of social effects. It can be seen as an inexhaustible reservoir of moral character, philosophies-in-action. Rituals and taboos are myths and narratives. All controversy is a result of conflict between absolutely held beliefs (of any and all kinds) and the realities of the day. ALL "beliefs" are limited -thus false- however necessary.

PSI-IN-ACTION My life is a pretty open book. At age 14 1/2 I was hit by a car and knocked from my bike, fracturing my neck, laying in a coma for 40 days and awakening to realize that I was completely paralyzed. Six months later I went back to high school, college, law school, became a lawyer, practiced law about 15 years and then was thrown out of the legal profession -in 1991- because I attacked that profession as I realized it had become totally corrupted by feminist-faggot rot. Of course my ways of demonstrating such were sui generis because I do -and can do- what others cant. And for calling the legal profession "crazy", I was suspended on "suspicion of mental illness".
You see I used PSI-IN-ACTION to introject and insert my beliefs into private and public consciousness. They can deny it all they want, but it is there already, including my criminal jury trials as sole defense counsel.
My speaking and acting in and before NYS courts, the Yonkers City Council, Westchester County Board of Legislators, Mount Vernon City Council, the Morton Downey TV show...are matters of public record - including in newspapers.
Also on record is the fact that I was paid $40.00 an hour to sit and read -and do little else- in the Bronx Family Court, Fun City Rest... -from 1978 to 1991. In truth, it was a racket. All I had to do was keep quiet, go along to get along. Indeed, I was a very nice and likable guy. But what made me so likable -my TBI-enhanced personality- would not let me do that. Indeed, I spent 10 years trying to show the courts and legal profession how bad the courts and profession really were. In addition to writing poetry, satire, singing, acting...I dressed up as a woman to attack -in a falsetto voice- feminism... before the Yonkers City Council (reported in the newspapers), I mooned Yonkers City Council Pres. Vinny Restiano during my address to the Council to protest feminist...bullshit. And I got NYCLU Pres. Norm Siegel to threaten suit against the Council if they tried to stop me from speaking -and the WCLU to do the same. At a NOW meeting in NYC, after I got the Pres. to say that she, a woman, could do anything I, a man, could do, I took off my shirt and dared her to do the same, At a Gay Pride Parade, I went with a Men's group dressed as a woman and hollered out "tits, tits, I wanna see your tits" to any women marching who weren't topless. And a neo-Nazi group next to us then did the same thing. NYC's Intelligence Division has it all on videotape. And they dont throw it away (I know because my father, a Lieutenant, worked there for 20 years). In the Bronx Criminal Court, I had a beautiful woman accused of trying to kill her husband lift her blouse and bra -in a packed courtroom- to show the cigarette burns on her breast. You cold have heard a pin drop just before the Judge fell out of his seat. But she was released from prison...

"Destination Void" "Consciousness", what is it ? As I see it, we each have our limited human consciousness minds and there is the 'eternal' present consciousness of which our minds are part although such is not conscious to "normal" people (although such IS conscious to all "normal" Traumatic Brain Injury [TBI] survivors like me). "Philosophical Meditations - The Examined Life" "Synergy" is similar to "synchronicity". "Extended peace makes you (all Americans) dull" -and feminist-faggot prone as we are today. ALL "premises (stability-producing definitions) are inertia (political correctness and) dulling. The difference between the sense world and the physical world is that between time distance and space distance. "Story of Human Language" Far more than 75,000 years ago people were speaking and sharing with speech and language...
"Myth and Literature" Myths are all about organizing the human world with and within our limited human consciousness minds. Everywhere it is the same. Myth and literature are/have noetic qualities, pointing to a more that we can sense but not know., showing ways we can get there. Myth and literature "create a meaningful place for man in a world oblivious to his presence".
Myth and ritual create literature -"emotional patterning"- in a quest for psychic order. Comparative religion shows a dying and :reviving God, the hero's quest, ritual drama, scapegoating, the cyclical nature of existence... Myth fuses the real ('eternal' present) and the ideal (the limited, as the limited human conscious mind), historical occurrences and intuitive truth. There is a connection between belief and myth. Analogy (comparators of all kinds) is the key. Myths and rituals are those parts of civilization which protect the individual while he matures psychologically and socially (a second womb). And such can be educative as well as delusory (self- or other-directed). Maturation is important for all and most are pretty mature by their mid-20s. But TBI survivors start all over again every day. The idea of survival after death is universal (if only from dreams, reveries...). Man is born with a generalized anxiety, an incompleteness, that drives him on. Rational destruction of myth results in infantilism and childishness, feminist-faggot bullshit. And that is just what has happened today.

"Satire" Attack and (with) humor. It is sophisticated, penetrating appearances and revealing folly. One can appear to be improvising even as one "steals up" on an audience. Colloquialisms and a crisp sense of moral attack are crucial. Satire is on the borderline between pure anger and pure fun. All systems and theories presuming to "solve" the problems of human life and living are ultimately and always naive. Satire has an irreverent appeal and can be ruthless and ever-painful even though it is based on identification. For it also hinges on difference, on dissociation. And brings about cognitive dissonance.

MY JOURNAL/BLOG Book Review "Bonfire of the Vanities"
From 1978 to 1991 (when I was thrown out of the profession for opposing its epidemic of feminist-faggot filth, rot, nonsense and corruption), I was a Family and Criminal Court Defense lawyer (assigned by the court ; legal aid) in the Bronx... Courts, the Courts and the Bronx that "Bonfire of the Vanities" was based on. And I was a lawyer down there at the same time the book was written and the movie made. Indeed, the book was a kind of "gallows humor" for me, an accurate portrayal of a bankrupt and corrupted legal system and of the whole of Western civilization. In addition to his observations about how the criminal justice system works (doesn't work, really)... I add a few bits about the Bronx Family Court. First I note that just about all the pretty young women I was assigned to represent, once we were alone inside the court interview rooms, got undressed and wanted to have sex on the table or the floor. This happened in the Criminal Courts (and pens) and in the streets outside the courthouse and anywhere I went in the Bronx doing investigations for cases. No days were ever boring. Fruitless and wasteful maybe, but always interesting.
Cognitive dissonance was a daily occurrence. As a lawyer in a suit, I was "wired into the power" and treated with respect and deference. Whenever I wanted to I walked into and out of the pens and prisons. "On the gate" was all I needed to have the double gates move in opposite directions as I walked in and out and prisoners were kept in. The courts are forms of free day care in the Bronx and are usually filled to capacity for intake, arraignment and trial. Logical -and hilarious- lunacy is a commonplace. And crimes are often comedies of errors. Black "spiritual leaders" are often professionally engaged in "steam control", keeping their people/parishioners under "control" and extorting "charitable" donations to their charities in return (think of Al Sharpton when he was younger, think of the bogus Tawanna Brawley case...). In trials, for defense lawyers before juries, "facts are not important... perceptions must be altered (having tried more than a few cases before juries in the Bronx and White Plains, I know all about it)". In courtrooms, laughs are often disguised as coughs, indigestion or holding your hand on your stomach as you look down, hoping your red face is taken as an indication of a stomach ache or a bad reaction to lunch.
Managing is a female attribute (women help [manage] their men -husbands, sons...). Motivation, leading, doing, enlarging...are male attributes, when men are being men and not the ever-lazier, irresponsible, effeminate and emasculate morons, faggots and quasi-faggots we are today. Anything to do with sexuality -and that is what human life is all about- is about "negotiation" and the "power of persuasion". "Mindful Meditation" is about the "Power of awareness". As a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor, one who is permanently adrift in a state of consciousness (SOC) that I term "non-conscious awareness", I find such interesting. "Expectations", our definitions -all of them- must be set aside, apparently so that one can become non-consciously aware. "Morality, mind and thought", as well, must be put aside. "Insight" is a result of putting one's limited human consciousness mind aside, resulting in "Wisdom...seeing the world as it really is". "Compassion" is very important and can be a result of insight (and such reminds me of the time that my father reproved me for being "opportunistic", one of the innumerable disabilities left me as a result of my TBI ; consequently, as I cant help being so [that is the way my damaged brain -conscious to me as I am stuck in a non-conscious awareness SOC always- works], I try always to be compassionate about it). "Imperfection" ? We are the sum of our "flaws". "Finitude...in the face of death" ? The truth is that we are all "dead" though we are not aware of it. As another result of my TBI, I have "come back from the dead", been "resurrected" and I know. For the "dead", non-conscious awareness/the 'eternal' present, has returned with me.

What is "mental illness" ? Psychological operations are social actions and, thereby, moral actions. Indeed, all human behavior is fundamentally moral.behavior. "Mental" sickness is an impossibility and often is no more than laziness, the lack of proper "self-help", especially physical exercise, a lack of contentment. The threat of commitment is a powerful motivator (as I know). "Mental illness" is a coverall for "economic, moral (morale), racial, religious, political..." problems, including "envy and rage, fear and folly, poverty and stupidity...". It is all about morals, morality, morale and contentment - or the lack thereof. So psychiatry is "a moral and poliitcal enterprise", not a medical one. The "mentally ill" are socially selected by society (those in institutions...) or self-selected (those seeing psychiatrists). By eliminating morality, right and wrong, from personal and social human life, psychiatry has led to ever more feminist-faggot excess, rot, nonsense, perversity... and destroyed or ignored all "ethical, religious and social (standards and) considerations". "Normative standards are essential" but psychiatric feminist-faggot, sexual "equality" nonsense has destroyed them all and we are a permissive amoral society today. "Actions speak louder than words" but today we are drowning in feminist-faggot verbiage about "equality" and "civil rights" (wrongs, actually) so no proper "actions" are possible. The ability to communicate with others -and the collective feminine- is essential for humanity. But feminist-faggot rot makes it near impossible. Psychiatry is "all about the study and control of human behavior (including non-verbal communication), symbolic logic, semiotics (the science of signs ; including the signs saying "Go Giants" in many house windows near St. Joseph's seminary), semantics and philosophy" - the "conceptual scaffolding" is crucial. "Causality and historicism" can be real drags as both are SOS and stuck in the past. "Laws of psychology are unknowable outside the context of present day society and sociology". "People play games in life" and living - with and within themselves as well as with others. The language game is an important one : Linguistics concerns formal structure, Philosophy and Semiotics concern cognitive structure and psychiatry concerns personal signification and social usage. Moral problems (psychiatry's bread and butter) are not "treatable" by medicine. "Hysteria" is a female invention (one from the collective feminine) that is a catchall for as-yet-unnamed human problems, including of the human race as a whole. "Deceit (hysteria...) is used to dominate and control. In truth, "mental illness" is all about a mix-up between language, expectations and communication. What can not be communicated with language is not considered real. So some are termed "mentally ill" - even though there usually is a vast difference between "knowledge" and information. Freud's "making the unconscious conscious" in patients was really talking about levels of consciousness, not about what I term the 'eternal' present/non-conscious awareness, that state of consciousness (SOC) all Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivors -like myself- are left in permanently after their TBIs. "Meaning" is all about context. Language is : informative, affective and promotive. Today, "rugged individualism" has become excess feminist-faggot nonsense. Women's proper roles are marriage and motherhood and helping (managing) their husbands. Women dominate by being submissive. Women maintain "the stability of the existing social order". But sometimes, like today, that "stability" is really decline, degeneration... "Is mental health necessarily a good thing ?" "Healthy means willing to play by the rules". But sometimes the rules/the law are ineffective and wrong. Today, "the law is an ass"
"Ultimate Security" Nuclear, Biological, Chemical (NBC)...weapons could destroy the human race in an instant. So could our ever- increasing number of environmental catastrophes. We are experiencing growing shortages of everything, this book -which was written more than 20 years ago- .notes. Yesterday a UN report noted that the planet Earth is running out of food, water, fuel... (As I see it the prerequisites for human survival are four : physical survival, human contentment, motion/having adequate common goals and polygamy/the way to keep women contented and happy so they can make the world a stable place and balance mens' initiative and restlessness). More than 20 years ago food riots caused the collapse of governments around the world.. Maritime fisheries were then largely depleted. World population then increased by more than 100 million each year, global warming then was getting bad, agriculture and forestry were declining... It was noted that environmental deterioration and social disintegration feed on each other in a real vicious cycle. Deforestation, desertification...worsened each other in a "risk spiral downward". North China was an expanding desert, Mexico City was so polluted then that breathing its air was like smoking several cartons of cigarettes a day (in the NYT, on 10-15-06, Hong Kong's major disasters with air pollution were noted ). Each day THEN led to more environmental refugees worldwide. "Synergistic connections" then were bewailed. But they have only gotten far, far worse today. To change it, a "critical mass" of world leaders must agree on adequate common goals for the human race to pursue.



MY JOURNAL/BLOG A review of something given to me by my CIA/FBI minder for nearly 20 years, "NEOTECH III : Controlling Mystics Through their Bicameral Mind". It is about "mind control", of oneself and others, and it is based on Julian Jaynes book "Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" a book I was told to get and read - which I did.

Knowing the external forces that control most people...can provide unbeatable advantages... 'feelings, luck, priests and politicians' (are all related and)...rooted in the bicameral mentality... Back on Feb. 28, 1991, a court order suspending me from the practice of law was published in the New York Law Journal. It was a loong opinion with a lot of psychobabble included. One can heal oneself -and society- by finding one's -and society's- center (another way of talking about non-conscious awareness, one of the innumerable disabilities a Traumatic Brain Injury [TBI] like myself is left with lifelong). "Pre-awareness" -non-conscious awareness- can allow one to "harness disturbances", for "warfare" occurs at the time of war as well as in times of peace - in politics, economics, society... One "good at winning does not get involved...he remains an enigma". "Brilliance...is no more than seeing what others do not see", a lifelong TBI survivor's disability, while "genius is knowing what others do not know", something I've spent my life on. The "political and social bases of military strength (prerequisites) involve morality and morale...Harmonizing people is the key (to victory) - as is non-doing". "Leadership is about psychological cohesion, speed and coordination (as well as) helping people to be and become content". "The art of invisibility (is another key to victory and it is all about)... inner detachment to obtain impersonal views of objective reality (non-conscious awareness), a simultaneous grasp of different points of view", something I have been cursed with since my TBI.. "Ruthlessness" is often also "kindness". "Mass psychology must be appreciated, studied and used". As Confucius noted about 500 BC, "rituals must be appropriated" to fit the conditions of the day.. One must "know what to do, when to do it and be a practitioner of the art of not-doing (which is)...the science of essence". All arrogance is self-defeating. "Effectiveness comes from the force of momentum", one rides the wave of "disturbance". One who is prepared, prepared to take advantage of emergent opportunity, is "lucky". One "directs with cultural arts and unifies with martial arts". "Ambiguity is non-directional mirroring" and the nature of women is naturally ambiguous, confused and confusing even to themselves. "Harmony among people" is the key to everything lasting and worthwhile. "Win before you seek battle". "Deception and deceit" are keys to victory. "Exploit and widen divisions in your opponents". "The only certain thing is things as they are, where you are, when you are...First know yourself, then others and then the context of your space and time...One must be ruthless to save lives".


MY JOURNAL/BLOG A Book Review of "My Stroke of Insight" by a female neuroscientist who had a stroke, a Traumatic
Brain Injury (TBI) like mine (although my TBI occured as a result of being hit by a car when I was 14 1/2, nearly 50 years ago, that which left me permanently and totally disabled)
Mystical states of consciousness (SOCs) may be "inneffable, transient and passive" as James wrote, but, as a TBI survivor who is constantly plagued by such, I disagree. For normal people such may be the case, but for millions of TBI survivors like me... The authoress's "consciousness was at one with the universe" during her stroke and mine is always so - non-consciously aware. Such "cognitive dissonance is the essence of humor". Although women foster stability, that which enables the human race to survive, too much "stability" -as today with our feminist-faggot mindset- results in sterility, decadence, degradation, degeneration and death - also today's world condition. However, once a man convinces a woman that his ideas are right, she will outperform him at his own ideas because a woman makes a man's inventions work better.. The authoress was a "me" without a personal identity (which I am today or, perhaps better said, my limited human consciousness mind resides next to/within my "me" without a personal identity). She experienced "a bizarre shift in perception". Such is a daily experience for me. The authoress's stroke resulted in "a powerful and unusual sense of dissociation", that which is common in all PSI experiences, including "peak" experiences, being "in the zone/flow", sexual intercourse... And TBI survivors are always somewhat so, non-consciously aware. She was "consciously alert, in the flow, mentally disabled yet nonconscious". She was non-conscious, nonetheless aware - somewhat similar to an out-of-body (OBE) or near death (NDE) experience. As a stroke survivor she learned how essential it was "to stay out of the way of herself emotionally" (experientially). "Chaos is the first step in the creative process". ALL human language is necessarily and unavoidably "manipulative". "FEAR" is a shortcut for "False Expectations Appearing real".

One thinks of the "ambiguity of faith (all faiths and all languages)...Why (do) we believe" ? What do we believe in ? "Obama's plan" about college tuition and mortgages (see below) is, like everything Obama and the Democrats do, well-intended ON THE SURFACE but impractical and, as usual, will worsen everything. The rich (1%) had better get wise and fight for what they have by giving money to inspirational causes such as Newt Gingrich's plans to colonize the Moon, Mars..
(for one thing, on the Moon -because of lesser gravity- many senior citizens could live -healthily and contentedly- and continue to work productively). As I see it, we each have our limited human consciousness minds and there is the 'eternal' present consciousness of which our minds are part although such is not conscious to "normal" people (although such IS conscious to all "normal" Traumatic Brain Injury [TBI] survivors like me). As I noted, "consciousness is part of the sea of the unconscious", what I would term 'eternal' present consciousness, the collective feminine plus...
"Philosophical Meditations - The Examined Life" "Synergy" is similar to "synchronicity". "Extended peace makes you (all Americans) dull" -and feminist-faggot prone as we are today. ALL "premises (stability-producing definitions) are inertia (political correctness and) dulling. The difference between the sense world and the physical world is that between time distance and space distance. Bypassing "verbal/analytical awareness" one encounters non-conscious awareness, a SOC (state of consciousness) that all TBI survivors, like myself, are dumped in after -and as one result of- their TBI, a lifelong SOC. "All conscious awareness is after the fact". "Field Theory" is about the source of an experience, the experiencer and the relationship between them The "keys to the gate of consciousness are symbolic (language and communication based)". Center Lane Offering New Groups for LGBTQ Youth (AND SUCH MUST BE CRUSHED)
YONKERS, NY -- Center Lane, a program of Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, is offering two new groups.
Voxx, for those who identify as female between the ages 13-21, meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:00 -7:00 PM to discuss LGBTQ issues as well as being female in the 21st century.
The Twenty Something Group, which provides support and counseling for LGBTQ young adults age 20 – 29, meets the first and third Thursday of the month from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

A survey carried out on behalf of an RTE game show has found that 40 percent of Irish people have been unfaithful to their spouse. RTE is the government-owned national broadcasting service.
Connacht emerged as the “most faithful” province in the country.
The survey was carried out on behalf of the game show series “Who Knows Ireland Best?” With relation to infidelity, the survey found that 41 percent of people admitted that they secretly checked their partner’s email and text messages. Also, 14 percent admitted they’ve ended a relationship using a text message.

Experimenting sexually in an open-ended way has been, for me, the most productive possible attitude. And in fact, once I knew how to make myself come, I discovered that — though it's helpful to be able to attain that release if I really want to — orgasms aren't actually my favorite part of sex! There are lots of other things I like better.
It's also worth noting that our definitions of "orgasm" are fairly narrow. Some research indicates that there may be other ways to conceptualize orgasms than the stereotypical genital-focused approach.
And now I want to talk about it some more.
It may be ironic that I spent so much time feeling terrible and broken and depressed because I couldn't figure out how to have orgasms … whereas now I prefer not to focus on them. In fact, I estimate that most of my current sexual encounters don't include my orgasm, and very few of my most pleasurable sexual encounters have included my orgasm.
I'm the first to admit that I don't know everything about sex, and there's a lot that I haven't experienced. Anything might change. But seriously. The best sex I've had in my life has been connective and emotional and, for me personally, has frequently involved intense BDSM. My favorite sex so far? Has also mostly been orgasm-free. Some people in some sex-related communities have asserted that for maximum amorous power, it's actually best to limit one's orgasms, because then the contained sexual energy ends up channeling into a deeper connection with one's partner. I can see that. For me, another way of thinking about it is that I'm really into being teased — and I'd rather experience hours of being teased without an orgasm, than have a quick encounter that ends in orgasm. For example: if I go to sleep so turned on that I can't dream about anything but my partner, and then I wake up in a damp mess, and then my partner makes my life difficult all morning, it's pretty awesome. ...................
Aaaaand … here's the most painful, ridiculous, circular irony of all. Ready? Here goes: now that I'm capable of having orgasms, I've found myself occasionally having orgasms only to satisfy my partner. How absurd is that? Plus, I know I'm not alone, because I've talked to other women who do the same thing!
I've written before that in the past I've felt trapped by fake plastic ideas of "what hot girls look like during sex"; I've written about how the pressure to "perform" my sexuality can hurt. What has amazed me, as I've gotten older, is just how pervasive that pressure can feel with some partners … and how little pressure there is with other partners. The question of how to create a low-pressure environment for sexuality to flourish is big and complicated, so let me just say here that although I'm all about people giving each other orgasms … it's no good if my partner's desire to give me an orgasm turns into pressure for me to have an orgasm!
Scarleteen, my favorite sex education site, has a great article about "squirting" orgasms and how some women feel pressured to "squirt" for the sake of the sexual "novelty". On a similar note, I'll close this post with an anecdote about a guy I dated a while back who was very focused on giving me orgasms. To his credit, he figured out how to make me come very quickly. But the problem was that — I soon realized — the biggest reason he wanted to make me come was because he wanted to feel like he could. Fundamentally, it wasn't about my pleasure; it was about him feeling like "the man".
Let me be clear: he was a great guy, and I was into having sex with him. But it became very obvious to me that if I didn't have an orgasm every time we had sex, then he would be really bothered. So there were definitely a few encounters where, although I wasn't especially interested in having an orgasm, I still closed my eyes and flicked through fantasies with a kind of panic … until I managed to kick-start my body into coming. Isn't that messed up?
One thing I've learned, in years of writing about sex and gender, is that anything — anything at all — can be a tool for limiting or stifling sexuality … just as much as it can be a tool for releasing sexuality (SHE SHOULD HAVE LEARNED THAT MEN AND WOMEN ARE NOT "EQUAL", THAT WOMEN ARE CONFUSED AND CONFUSING EVEN TO THEMSELVES). Turns out, orgasms are no exception. Even orgasms can become a difficult duty. I'm so glad that I know how to have an orgasm now; for me, that was an important step for my sexuality and my self-esteem. But now that I've learned how to do that, I find myself questioning why it's such an important and destructive issue in the first place!
Sex is a journey. There are so many directions, so many forks in the road, so many stops along the way. There are so many speedbumps and roadblocks, uphills and downhills, free and easy open stretches. Sometimes people stop to rest. Sometimes people double back. Everything is evolving. A lot of people find it most awesome to simply … enjoy the road.

It’s the late 1960s. I am at the movie theater with a bunch of my straight school chums, none of whom are aware of my disinterest in women’s bits and all of whom are breast-obsessed. We are here to see Performance, a trendy, louche movie starring Mick Jagger, Anita Pallenberg, and Michele Breton as three drug-addled funsters who while away their bohemian Notting Hill lives in various sexual triangulations. There is no shortage of nudity. At one point Mick and his two playthings splash about in the bath. While I try desperately to catch a glimpse of Mick’s bottie, my pals focus on the chests of the two ladies. Later, at the pub, my dude pals kvelled enthusiastically about Pallenberg’s modest knockers. Special praise was reserved for Breton’s pert, little, no-brassiere-needed appendages. As far as my pals were concerned, boulder boobs were for barmaids and strippers. Cool girls like Twiggy, Ali McGraw, Mia Farrow, and the above-mentioned degenerates were all highly desirable, despite being small of tit.
Images of Mademoiselle Breton’s boobies came flooding back on a recent trip to the cinema. During the non-porn, fully clothed segments of the movie, I found myself speculating as to whether the ferociously compelling Miss Mara, with her uninflated mammaries, might possess the power to usher out the era of the porno-hooter? Can she put the natural knocker back up where it belongs? Might The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo repopularize the smaller breast, or Bristol, as it is known in the Cockney rhyming slang of my homeland? (Bristol City = tittie.)

It’s a funny thing, what Simon Doonan is doing here: He’s arguing from the basic assumption that among straight men today, small breasts are universally deemed unattractive. And large breasts are fake. And back in the day, small breasts were attractive because they were class markers of the “cool girls” who you wanted to hang out with, not the “barmaids and strippers” who you undoubtedly fucked but probably didn’t want to be seen in public with.

I realize that, as far as red-blooded heterosexuals are concerned, there is no issue here. Straight dudes (AND HE IS A FAGGOT) are too busy enjoying the current era of the mega-boob to give a thought to any alternative. In this regard, they are most selfish. After all, lots of women lust after men with tight soccer-player buns, but how many of you pudgy straight guys would willingly undergo surgery to achieve this effect for your lady’s delectation?
At the end of the day, health concerns may well cut the cackle. The New York Times recently ran a story about the recall of thousands of dodgy, leaky implants. French health authorities have advised 30,000 women to explant those suspect implants ASAP. Similar warnings have followed in Germany and the Netherlands.

Ah yes, it’s just that he’s concerned for your health, really. Because women just wouldn’t have large breasts without implants, right? And women who do have implants are shallow silly sluts (he won’t say that, of course [BUT IT IS MOST TRUE]).
There is of course something to be said about beauty culture, and the lengths women (to a much greater degree than men) are willing to go (and are expected to go) to fit a fairly narrow model of attractiveness. And there is something to be said about the normalization of large breasts when, as I’m writing this post, I am about to call myself “small of tit” and then I remember that I’m between a B and a C-cup and in what universe that is abnormally, notably “small” is beyond me. And there is something to be said about the assumption that larger (but not too large!) breasts are assumed to be more attractive when I assume that saying I am “small of tit” will be understood as an admission of less-than-attractiveness.
But really, what the Doonan article comes down to is who is considered a “woman” in his estimation. Because he’s not talking about women generally — he’s talking about women who are stereotypically bangable. Women who are thin and white and young and able-bodied and have big tits but otherwise might have small tits. Not women who are fat, or who are old, or whose big breasts aren’t at a right angle from their rib cages, or whose “mega-breasts” aren’t DD cups but are F or G or H cups or larger, or who just aren’t “hot” for whatever reason. I’m pretty sure women like that aren’t even on the radar screen here.

Nude Iranian movie star ignites firestorm
A photo and video of a famous Iranian actress baring her breasts have gone viral this week, igniting a fiery debate among Iranians.
Golshifteh Farahani appears topless, cupping her breasts, in a photo in the French magazine Madame Le Figaro. Also, a video apparently made by a French film academy, features the actress looking directly into a camera as she disrobes. She stands with her breasts uncovered. Soon after the images hit the Web, reaction was swift inside Iran, where Farahani gained fame in state-sponsored movies that forbid the mere touching of hands.
"The fate of an actress, who left her own country and joined Hollywood, has been nothing but immorality," the semi-official Fars News Agency wrote this week. "The actress who once played the role of caring and decent mothers of Iran has now auctioned off her modesty and honor in front of the Western cameras."
Farahani reportedly moved to France shortly after making history in the Iranian film industry by being the first Iranian to star in a Western film. In 2008, she played a nurse in "Body of Lies" with Leonardo DiCaprio.
It's unclear if the actress currently lives in France. Her agency in Paris declined a CNN interview request as Facebook, Twitter and blogs lit up with incendiary remarks about her. Some say Farahani has betrayed Islam and Iran for revealing her body. Other posters are supportive. They cheer her boldness and defend her right to self-expression.
Several Facebook pages have popped up in recent days with notes encouraging visitors to re-post the photo and video. A wall post Thursday appeared on a Facebook page that appears to belong to the actress. The message, carrying Farahani's name, says, "We have to open our mind!!"
Among other comments on Facebook:
"She is really brave, and I am proud of her. She shows what she believes in and it has nothing to do with others."
"Along with me and all my friends, we are really proud of you."
"I'm ashamed to call you an Iranian."
"Good for you Golshifteh dear! For once an Iranian with guts has come out to show we are just like anyone else in this world. You can model and do whatever you like, just like every woman from Los Angeles to Tokyo."
CNN reached Iranians inside the country Thursday night.
None wanted their last name published, saying they feared government reprisal for speaking to Western media. Yasmin, a 22-year-old student from Tehran, called Farahani "irresponsible" for posing nude.
"What did she think? She could pose topless in Paris, and then come back to Tehran, cover up again, and everything will be fine?" Yasmin said. "She should have thought about that before she did it. I understand she is an actress and artist, but she also has an Iranian passport."
Daroush, a 32-year-old English teacher in Shiraz, said he suspects the photo and video were purely publicity stunts to further Farahani's film career. "As an Iranian inside Iran, I knew who Golshifteh Farahani was, but did Americans or Brits?" he asked. "Probably not, but now they know. Smart woman."
Fereshteh, a 56-year-old retired schoolteacher in Tehran, is pleased to see the actress breaking a taboo, even if "her actions are against Iranian culture." Amin, a 34-year-old Web designer in Shiraz, said he didn't understand what all the fuss is about.
"Women in Hollywood pose like this daily," he said. "Why should an Iranian be treated differently? Because we are Muslims? There are Muslims all over the world who are models, actresses, artists that pose like this."
Mohammed, a 40-year-old engineer who lives in the city of Isfahan, said the actress "should be ashamed of herself."
He also said he felt actors and actresses have a tough time working in Iran, and Farahani posing nude will only make their jobs more difficult.
Mary Apick agrees. Three decades ago, Apick was a huge movie star in Iran, winning a best actress award for her role in an Iranian film at the Moscow Film Festival. She said performers in Iran will likely feel more pressure to adhere to the regime's notion of strict Islamic code in both their performances on screen and their personal life.
"They will be scrutinized more, no doubt," she said.
On Thursday, Apick watched the video of Farahani while CNN.com interviewed her. "I cannot believe what I'm seeing," she said. "She can never go back to Iran. No way. No way on Earth. Oh, I empathize with this beautiful young actress. No one has ever done anything like this. This is truly the bravest, boldest thing I've ever seen."
Apick lives in the United States, and has forged a successful career as a playwright, actress and activist in the West. She's lauded for writing and starring in the play "Beneath the Veil," which interweaves stories of women struggling for their rights.
"It was impossible to be an actress in Iran when I was there, and it's not gotten easier. It's become harder. There is no honest art, so there is no art. The regime has no interest in women, (especially not) strong women characters in movies," she said.
To get a film made and released in Iran, she said, a filmmaker must first shoot and produce the piece. Funding is up to them. They are required to present the finished product to Iranian authorities who view it and censor it if they feel it steps outside Islamic code. Government authorities then decide whether to issue a permit for the film's release. No permit, no movie.
Mehdi Semati, a media professor at Northern Illinois University who has written extensively about Iranian films, has been monitoring Internet chatter and listening to his Iranian students lively discussions the photo and video. They are split, mirroring comments online, he said.
He has been particularly surprised by the reaction of one student who subscribes to a rather hard-line pro-regime viewpoint. The student wasn't as harsh as Semati expected him to be. "I could tell it really made him think," he said.
"It almost doesn't matter what (Farahani's) intent was," the professor said. "Farahani posing this way shows that even Iran's highly proscribed, controlled filmmaking industry does not have total control, even over an icon of their own making."
Even more significantly, he added, it demonstrates that the Iranian regime cannot prevent anyone with access to the Web from judging for themselves.

PSI-IN-ACTION My life is a pretty open book.
