NYT Mag. Coma : Stories from the edge of death. Many coma survivors "wake up" -their eyes open- but "no one is home". As a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor who lay in a coma for 40 days, I am living proof that such is not really the case. The inability to communicate is a real problem for those of us who are "dead".

TLE (including after TBI) produces "hallucinations (so-called), strange feelings, dreamy states (States of Consciousness - SOCs), uncontrollable anger and panic attacks...personality changes (are normal)...(most) become deeply 'religious' (and experience) a compulsion to write...". And each afflicted person -probably billions of people worldwide are touched by such in one way or another at some time in their lives- is different. "Seizure symptoms" -not just convulsions...but minor "shivers" or "neurotremors", such as have been observed by neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuropsychiatrists, psychiatrists...about me- have been noted in Lewis Carrol.....Fyodor Dostoevsky...Moses, Muhammad, St. Paul...Napoleon...". Such come from a "scar on the temporal lobe caused by accident (like mine) or chemical problems...which alter the brain's electrical activity....TLE is the most common form of epilepsy...The temporal lobe controls feelings and memories".

Iran humiliated - what next ?
But while the potential international fallout of all this has been discussed, there’s been virtually no comment on the domestic implications of Khamenei’s loss of face. The reality is that the Iranian regime needs to show muscle abroad. Failure to do so could be interpreted as a sign of weakness by its opponents at home, and could even create division among the leadership’s supporters.
The supreme leader is keen to avoid either of these things, not least because in two months’ time the government will be hosting a new round of parliamentary (Majlis) elections. These polls will be the first elections since the tumultuous presidential elections of 2009. And Khamenei has no choice but to go ahead with them ......................
With this in mind, then, the supreme leader has already started to take action to mitigate the risks. .....................
But the reality for Khamenei is that flexing his muscles at home is unlikely to be enough.
And, in terms of targets abroad, Israel surely could be at the top of Khamenei’s wish list. After all, striking the United States would only rally support around any Obama election year response, something Khamenei is surely desperate to avoid. Of course, Arab targets are another possibility, but one would imagine that Iran is loath to do something that would see Tehran further isolated in the region.
As a result, attacking Israel in some way could be seen by Iran as the least costly option, diplomatically at least............
This isolation has left Israel dangerously exposed. Although Israel maintains military superiority, as the 2009 Gaza war and the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident demonstrated, military might isn’t enough to ensure its security against asymmetric threats. Israel needs diplomatic credibility and leverage abroad. Without these, Israeli military victories in such confrontations could turn into unmitigated diplomatic disasters, and the country could be left facing some costly (in terms of time and cash) damage control as well as long and drawn out internal investigations. (BUT IF IRAN ATTACKED ISRAEL AND ISRAEL -SELF-DEFENSE- DESTROYED IRAN ? A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME ?)
Of course, to Israeli citizens, the threat posed by Iran is very real – many Israelis have been killed in suicide bombings on buses and in cafes, in attacks bankrolled by Ayatollah Khamenei’s government and carried out by Hamas. Although disputes exist over whether a nuclear Iran would be an existential threat or not, the perceived threat Tehran poses is one of the few issues on which there’s political consensus.
So, back to the cornered and isolated Khamenei. Will he lash out at Israel, using asymmetric warfare tactics from Gaza, lawless Sinai or Lebanon? With Israel’s diplomatic standing at an all-time low, one has to ask: if Israel couldn’t seize a single Turkish ship (the Mavi Marmara) without causing a diplomatic firestorm, how will it be able to enter Gaza, Lebanon, or Egypt (where Egyptians are reportedly forming their own Iran-inspired Revolutionary Guards) to chase down possible Iran financed terrorists?
Clearly, the threat from a possible nuclear Iran must be addressed. But at the same time, Israel should be prepared to counter the asymmetric danger posed from a non-nuclear Iran, something far more likely than the much-discussed nuclear threat.
Judging from the country’s severely exposed diplomatic flank, though, Israel looks sadly ill-prepared to meet that threat.

Microsoft's newly-patented "avoid ghetto" app for GPS devices aims to help motorists steer clear of unsafe neighborhoods, but the concept's controversial nature has garnered ire from critics.

The technological cordoning off of some neighborhoods as dangerous, as with the Microsoft app, can open a Pandora's box.

As Sarah E. Chinn, author of Technology and the Logic of American Racism, observes, the stats indicated in the app might be skewed to discriminate against particular demographics.

"It's pretty appalling," Chinn said of the app. "Of course, an application like this defines crime pretty narrowly, since all crimes happen in all kinds of neighborhoods. One of the most recent retorts comes from Georgia, where last month Democratic state Rep. Scott Holcomb introduced a bill requiring members of the local legislature to prove they're not Legislating Under the Influence. Holcomb told HuffPost he came up with the idea because he was struck by a bill from his Republican colleagues to drug test welfare applicants (ALSO LEGITIMATE).
"I was really struck by how awful it was," he said. "I wanted to bring some attention to it (VERY GOOD)."
Democrats in Florida, Ohio and Tennessee have done the same thing. Tennessee state representative G.A. Hardaway said his bill to test lawmakers was inspired by constituents (WELFARE RECIPIENTS ?) annoyed with a Republican welfare-drug-testing bill.

Craig Ferguson's chat with Sophia Bush was innocently talking about how her filming schedule in North Carolina had prevented her from visiting him on the show more often. Now that "One Tree Hill" is over, she can stop by all the time.

It turns out that two -- not one -- is really the smallest divisible unit.

Ask any longstanding loving couple, or ask America's social psychologists (FEMINIST-FAGGOT BIASED, AS IS PSYCHIATRY AND OUR GEBERAL WORLDWIDE WAY OF THINKING). Being in a relationship is good for your mental health, your emotional well being and your bank balance (even if they seem to do the opposite sometimes).

No wonder so many people feel the urge to find and foster longstanding relationships, through all the good times and bad. At heart we know they're profoundly valuable.

I bring all this up because, of course, there are many organizations and religions in the world who want to limit or even prevent many of us from ever knowing the joys of a longstanding partnership.

I wish I could say that the value of two adults forming a long and stable loving relationship is evident to everyone, but that's not the case is it? (MALE AND FEMALE, YES, BUT HOMOSEXUALS NO)

On Monday I was startled, and that's not too strong a word, to read that Pope Benedict just told diplomats from nearly 180 countries that marriage equality for gays actually threatens the future of humanity. (HOMOSEXUALITY AND ITS NATURAL EXCESS DOES SO)

“This is not a simple social convention, but rather the fundamental cell of every society. Consequently, policies which undermine the family threaten human dignity and the future of humanity itself,” he said.

Strong words from the leader of the largest religion on earth, those. In fact they're the strongest words a sitting Pope has ever uttered on same sex marriage to the 1.3 billion Catholics he leads.



What are major threats to humanity after all? They're things like war, disease, famine, terrorism, natural disasters -- and now the gays. (THE SURVIVAL OF THE HUMAN RACE BECAUSE OF FEMINIST-FAGGOT ROT)

Growing up in Ireland, I was not made aware that being gay was anything other than an embarrassing social gaffe. Most Irish people didn't see it as a sinister global threat, in fact the bullies I knew just saw it as a really helpful handicap that made it easier to target you.

Thanks to the Pope's clarifying statement on Monday, those days are now over. Now gay relationships constitute a clear danger to the world which is only matched by world war. Or so he says. (AND HE IS CORRECT)

He knows a bit about the effects of war, Pope Benedict. As a boy he was forced to become a member of the Hitler Youth in Germany, where he had his first unforgettable glimpses of what a real threat to the future of humanity looked like.

I don't know how he has subsequently come to see same sex marriage as threatening humanity in a similar way, but I'll trust his sincerity, even if I obviously don't share it.

But in Canada, Spain, and indeed in New York state and elsewhere, we have full civil marriage for gay couples, and to date not one heterosexual marriage has been attacked or destroyed by the fact. (ALL WRONG - WHAT ABOUT SELF-FLAGELLATION FOR AND BY THE GAYS THEMSELVES TO GIVE THEM THEIR HIGHS ?)

No bands of militant gay people are marauding about policing churches or city halls to tear up marriage certificates on unsuspecting heterosexuals (OH, THAT IS THE SUBTLE WAY ALL FAGGOTS OPERATE). On the contrary, it's as if most people haven't even noticed.

That’s probably why the church is ratcheting up the rhetoric. They want to scare us all. Frightened people are easier to manipulate.

Here in New York the Pope just announced that our Archbishop Timothy Dolan will next month become a cardinal, doubtless in part due to approval of his non-stop attacks on the personhood and dignity of gay couples. (THERE IS NO "PERSONHOOD" OR "DIGNITY" IN BEING "GAY" OR A "GAY COUPLE")

By not supporting a federal ban on same sex marriage, Dolan recently announced, President Obama could “precipitate a national conflict between church and state of enormous proportions.”
Oh the drama (THAT IS WHAT HOMOSEXUAL AND FEMINIST ROT AND EXCESS IS ALL ABOUT ANYWAY). A new civil war fought over gay people? I don't really see it happening. (IT IS IN THE WORKS)

But Dolan was rewarded for keeping the pressure on, wasn't he? And that pressure is still building because he’s unlikely to ever let it ease. (GOOD, INCREASE IT EXPONENTIALLY)

But might this level of operatic anti-gay rhetoric and frank intolerance pose the real threat, I wonder? (NOT REALLY, FRANKIE BABY) Because gay people aren't a “threat” to humanity, they're an important part of humanity, even if the pope and archbishop Dolan spend the rest of their lives working to exclude them from the dignity of love and commitment.

Judge Judy inspires ire in many, but one 62-year-old woman in Jupiter really took the TV judge's patronizing (SHE KNOWS IT ALL) to heart.
According to the probable cause affidavit by Jupiter Police, Janet Knowles was arrested Sunday morning after she hit a 65-year-old man on the head with a hammer.
.................... She told police she "was upset because Judge Judy was on the television," according to the affidavit.
The victim told officers he was in his recliner when Janet got "upset with Judge Judy." That's when Knowles grabbed a sort of gavel -- a hammer-- and struck the victim, causing cuts on his head and arm.

Time for Catholic Church to welcome women as equals
(FOR SUCH NONSENSE, IT IS TIME TO THROW THESE WOMEN PROPOSING SUCH FILTH, GARBAGE... INTO HAREMS SO THEY LEARN HOW MUCH BETTER LIFE IS TO BE A WOMAN RATHER THAN TRYING TO BE A MAN)

The Catholic Church has provided comfort to billions of people over the ages by offering continuity and tradition in an always turbulent world. The church and its ceremonies have survived the dark ages, plagues, wars, and despotic governments. Through every sort of calamity imaginable, the church has remained solid, like the rock it was built upon.

But times have changed (FOR THE WORSE, ALL BECAUSE OF FEMINIST-FAGGOT ROT, FILTH, PERVERSITY...)and to deal with it can be difficult. Sometimes tradition and obstinacy are blurred and if you don't recognize that, the world will pass you by. Recently, the church has been rocked by sex abuse scandals, waning influence and a worldwide shortage of Priests.

The Church is ignoring the great social changes that have swept advanced cultures around the world (HEADING THEM TOWARDS TODAY'S NEAR-EXTINCTION OF THE HUMAN RACE), one of the major changes is that women have achieved parity with men in almost every arena (WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG BECAUSE IT DESTROYS THE MALE [Y] IN MEN [XY] AND MAKES THEM LAZIER, IRRESPONSIBLE, EFFEMINATE AND EMASCULATED) ....They are equal human beings (THEY MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT). No longer are women expected to stay home and bear children (AND THAT IS BAD FOR WOMEN, CHILDREN AND THE SURVIVAL OF THE HUMAN RACE). They are free to do that, but they are also free to pursue anything else and rightfully (WRONG - AS IN CIVIL "RIGHTS" THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG) so.

In today's world women are heads of state, test pilots, astronauts, doctors, scientists, pastors, CEO's, Generals and someday soon, a conservative woman will step up to be President of the USA.

So with all of this progress (DISASTER, ACTUALLY) throughout civilized (COLLAPSING) countries of the world, why can't the church recognize that women are equals (BECAUSE THEY AREN'T) and deserve a seat at the table of power? It seems that women were able to have positions of importance in the church prior to 494 AD. (WOMEN'S POWER IS NOT MASCULINE AS THE FEMINISTS AND FAGGOTS MAINTAIN)

But in 494 AD, Pope Gelasius decreed women could no longer be ordained to the priesthood (AND RIGHTFULLY SO). From that time, women’s roles in the church diminished and they were deprived of leadership roles.

Time for the church to step into the 21st century and ordain women as priests, nominate them to be cardinals and bishops and one day soon, when we see smoke over the Vatican, it will mean a woman has been selected to be pope.
